How to get a top job at a top university in the U.S.
Computer science majors at top universities in the United States are seeing their pay skyrocket as the nation’s economy picks up steam.
As the nation heads into a crucial two-week vacation that begins Thursday, U.K.-based Vcu computer scientists are set to see their salaries skyrocket to $120,000 from $80,000.
The university announced in a news release Tuesday that it was expanding the positions of the top-earning Vcu and Niu computer scientists, while the university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Johns Hopkins University are adding new roles for the nation’s best-known computer science graduates.
The news release does not say when the positions will open, or how many students will apply.
The University of North Columbia has announced that its top computer science graduate, Jia-Chi Wu, will be joining the school’s Graduate Program in Data Science and Analytics as an associate professor.
Wu will work in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the school.
Vcu Computer Science President and CEO Robert Burdick told The Associated Press that the move was in the best interest of the college, which has seen a surge in computer science enrollment this year as the economy picks back up.
The new positions will also help support Vcu’s existing faculty, he said.
The school has seen about a 25 percent increase in the number of students pursuing computer science degrees over the last two years, Burdack said.
It will also provide more students with an opportunity to pursue graduate studies, he added.
While it’s difficult to predict how the job market will evolve, it’ll be good to see a lot of people going into computer science in the future, Buffett said.
The nation’t-record-setting $1.3 trillion U.T. economy is expected to grow at a 3.6 percent annual pace through 2021.
Computer science is the only area of the UT curriculum that has shown improvement in the last five years.
