How to get a good salary at the Canadian Computer Science University
The Canadian Computer Society is encouraging all computer science students and post-graduate students in the United States to apply to its National Computer Science Salary Guide.
The program, which is funded by the US Department of Commerce and is available online, aims to provide guidance on the career path for computer science graduates and to provide information on what career opportunities are available.
This week, the Society released its 2018 salary information, and it was pretty interesting.
Computer science salaries are still very low in the U.S., at around $62,000 per year, which includes a $16,000 annual stipend.
That’s far from the $300,000 and $500,000 that are available in Canada.
Computer Science graduates in Canada earn $46,000, which isn’t bad for a career that typically requires more than four years of work experience.
The average salary for the first three years of a computer science bachelor’s degree in Canada is $61,500.
Computer scientists in the US make about $65,000.
The median annual salary for a computer scientist in the country is $78,000 according to a 2015 study by CareerBuilder.
The top job for computer scientists in Canada right now is senior software developer, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The Bureau of Labour Statistics, which provides salary information to the public, also says that computer science occupations in the Midwest are in the top 10 percent of jobs.
